Students in the next course for prison guards, which starts on Monday at the Prison Service Training Center in Caxias, Oeiras, will have to eat outside and not in the classroom.
An official prison service source confirmed cm that, unlike previous courses, where the services of external companies were contracted out “with no commitment to meals for students”, in this course, trainees “will receive a daily meal subsidy at the places of their choice.”
Carlos Sousa, president of the National Union of Prison Guards, explained that “of the 150 vacancies opened by the Department of Justice for the course, only 128 graduates should pass.” “Restaurants that exist near the training center are very far away,” the union member concluded.
