The Real Betis has taken three points from the Reale Arena after beating in the final minutes the Real society thanks to two goals from Juan Cruz and Borja Iglesias. The txuri-urdin carried the weight of the game, they generated the best chances, but their shots lacked the necessary success to damage the rival.
Summary of the match Real Sociedad – Betis (0-2)
Real Sociedad took the lead in the match in a first half played at the pace of the team from San Sebastian, who played many minutes in a Betis field that during the first half hour was unable to get out of the pressure exerted by Real.
It was Pablo Marín who gave the first serious warning of the game. It was the 7th minute when an incursion into the Rioja area ended with a cross shot that Rui Silva deflected. Carlos Fernández also had it inside the area, but his shot hit the post.
As the minutes passed, it took its toll on the Real players and the pressure ceased to be as effective, which gave Betis the option to try their luck with the attack. However, Pellegrini’s men barely generated a sense of danger.
On the way back from the locker room, it was Real who continued to carry the offensive weight. Brais enabled Carlos Fernández in depth, whose unchecking left him alone against Rui Silva, who came out the winner in heads-up. Immediately afterwards it was Merino, who stung his header too much in a corner kick.
After a closed corner from Fekir that hit the post, Real intensified their dominance and Ruis Silva had to reappear to stop the shots from Navarro, Merino and Carlos Fernández.
And so it came to minute 85, when Álex Moreno started a climb down the left wing and put a cross into the area, where he appeared Juan Cruz to finish next to the post, overcoming Remiro’s stretch.
The blow was hard for Real who, even so, had the tie in a foul taken by Brais that Magunazelaia headed. Right after another gallop by Álex Moreno ended with a ball in front of the defense that Borja Iglesias he pushed into the net to take the three points for Sevilla.
