Brazilian player Neymar will undergo surgery on his right ankle and will no longer be able to play for Paris Saint-Germain this season. The news was spread on Monday by the French club and quoted by the Globo newspaper.
The football player was injured last month and suffered a torn ligament on the court. Given the recovery time it takes after surgery, Neymar is expected to be out of action for about four months.
It is worth noting that the Brazilian striker was still recovering from a previous injury received in the game against Lille.
“In recent years, Neymar Jr has had several episodes of instability in his right ankle. After the latest sprain, the Paris Saint-Germain medical team recommended surgery to avoid a high risk of recurrence. (..) The operation will be carried out in the coming days at the Aspetar Hospital in Doha,” the football club said in a statement.
