Ivorian footballer Mustafa Sylla has died at the age of 21 after suffering a heart attack during Sunday’s game between Racing Club Abidjan and SOL FC at the Robert Champroux stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
Footage from the video captures the moment the left-back lost his balance and fell to the ground in midfield. Other players quickly rescued the player. Officials decided to continue with Ivory Coast’s top flight after Silla was taken off the field.
The athlete died this Sunday, the president of the Racing Club Abidjan, quoted by the publication, told AFP. daily mail.
“Sulla died on the way to the hospital,” wrote the team in which the athlete played on a Twitter account.
