Roberto Martinez analyzes possible players for the national team and does not lose sight of Rafa Silva.

In a video posted this Wednesday to the Portuguese Football Federation that shows how a typical day goes for Roberto Martínez, the coach can be seen analyzing a screen with a list of players – 200, according to the coach – with information on usage at their respective clubs. And in the image it is possible that one of the players… Rafa Silva.

Recall that in September last year, when Fernando Santos was still a coach, the Benfica striker announced his retirement from the national team. “I think this is a fair and right decision at this stage of my career. I ask everyone to respect the reasons of a personal nature, ”the player said then.

Most recently, February 23, write down reported on Roberto Martinez’s visit to Seixal to speak with Goncalo Ramos, Joao Mario and António Silva, the three Reds players who represented Portugal at the World Cup in Qatar. He also spoke to Goncalo Guedes. A practice that he did with all those who were called up to the competition, as well as with other players who had experience in the Selection.

You can still find players in Roberto Martinez’ team who have not yet made their debut in Portugal, such as Florentino (Benfica), Abdo Conte (Troyes), Francisco Conceição (Ajax), Sheka (Rennes), João Moutinho (from La Spezia) and Angel Gomes (Lille), an English-born Portuguese-born player (he has represented England U17, U19 and U21), among many others.

Also look out for Angel Algobia, a 23-year-old midfielder who plays for Getafe and is of Portuguese-Spanish descent.
