Sporting CP lost 2-1 to Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday in the game of the sixth and last round of Group D of the Champions League football and failed to reach the Octave, being relegated to the Europa League.
At José Alvalade’s stadium, Sporting CP, who needed only a draw to qualify for the Champions, scored first from the Brazilian Artur Gomes in the 39th minute, but the German team changed the score in the second half thanks to Japanese goals. Kamada with a penalty of 62 and the Frenchman Colo Muani with 72.
Sporting finished third in the group thanks to Tottenham’s 2-1 stoppage-time victory over Marseille to continue in European competition, with England and Germany advancing in the Champions League and France finishing last.
