Three women from Texas, USA disappeared without a trace two weeks ago in Mexico after crossing the border to sell clothes in a street market.
Marina Pérez Ríos, 48, and her sister Martiz Trinidad Pérez Ríos, 47, and their friend Alicia Cervantes, 53, were last seen on February 24. They were heading to the city of Montemorelos in the Mexican state of Nuevo Leon, according to CNN Internacional.
The husband of one of the missing reportedly spoke to his partner as she traveled to the country, but was unable to contact her afterwards. He became concerned and reported the case to the authorities, who are currently investigating the disappearance in cooperation with the Mexican police.
Four more Americans were abducted by an armed group in Mexico last week and two were found dead days later.
