Three suspects are on the run after the GNR seized a speedboat belonging to a drug trafficking ring in the Benavente area early Monday afternoon.
The vessel driven by the man was seen approaching the truck at around 2:00 pm in the municipality of Azambuja. This was announced by an official source of GNR. cm it is not yet possible to say whether the heavy and fast boats will be linked.
The GNR was alerted and quickly placed resources in the area.
The same official source explained to our newspaper that there was even a chase when the resources of the GNR were on land, and the boat was sailing north along the Tejo River.
Interception was possible only in the municipality of Benavente. The driver of the boat was arrested, and about 200 canisters of fuel were seized inside. No drugs were found.
The ship and its contents were seized, and the driver was detained.
Our newspaper found itself investigating the possibility that the boat was placed in the Tagus River in the Vala Real area, in the municipality of Azambuja, after it was unloaded from a truck that was discovered by GNR soldiers.
