Liechtenstein called up 23 players to face Portugal on March 23 in Lisbon, which marks the start of Group J in the qualifying round for Euro 2024, the local federation announced today.
In the Portuguese capital, Liechtenstein will also be led by Austrian René Pauric, the coach who left his job in March to take charge of Vaduz, but who will lead the team through the first two rounds of qualifying.
The 49-year-old coach called up 23 players, including seven from Vaduz, a team that made history this season by becoming the first Liechtenstein side to play in the group stage of a UEFA competition, in this case the European Conference League.
The match between Portugal and Liechtenstein will take place at the José Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon, while Portugal will play three days later in Luxembourg.
The March 23 game will mark the debut of Spaniard Roberto Martinez as Portugal manager, who replaced Fernando Santos in January.
The Euro 2024 qualifying group also includes Iceland, Slovakia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
