Unemployment benefits fell 12.2% to 183,304 in February.

The number of unemployed people receiving unemployment benefits fell 12.2% year-over-year and 0.3% year-over-year in February to 183,304, according to Social Security statistics released this Monday.

According to the monthly statistical summary prepared by the Department of Strategy and Planning (GEP) of the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security, there were thus 634 fewer beneficiaries in February than in January and 25,353 fewer than in the same month in 2022.

Unemployment benefits were awarded to 139,303 people in February, down 2.4% mom and down 4.8% year on year.

In the case of initial unemployment benefit, 10,615 beneficiaries were covered, up 7.4% compared to January and 30.7% compared to the same month of the previous year.

The number of recipients of subsequent unemployment benefits in February was 24,748, down 0.7% mom and up 21.9% year-on-year.

Women made up 56.1% of the total number of recipients of unemployment benefits, and men – 43.9%.

Social Security statistics show that the average unemployment benefit in February was 570.89 euros.

The number of unemployed people registered at job centers fell 8.3% (-28,619) year-on-year in February to 315,645, the “second lowest figure ever” this month, the Department of Labor said on Monday. solidarity and welfare. .
