Angola PR authorizes 4 ME for work on future Film Museum

Angola’s President João Lourenço has authorized a cost of 2.2 billion kwanza (€4 million) for re-qualification work at Cine Alfa 1 and 2, which will become the future Cinema Museum.

In accordance with Presidential Decree No. 51/23 of March 20, which Lusa had access to this Wednesday, the contract for the re-qualification and equipping of Cine Alfa 1 and 2 as part of its transformation into the Museum of Cinema and Images in Motion, will be celebrated with the company OBRAIN — Civil engineering and public works.

This public works contract will be supervised by Golden Hill, Lda., of Lebanese origin, and will cost a total of Kwanza 250 million (€460,000).

The measure, citing a presidential decree, aims to make infrastructure “an indispensable element in the development of national culture.”

João Lourenço also delegates to the Minister of Culture and Tourism powers, with the right of delegation, to approve the parts of the procedure, as well as to verify the validity and legality of all actions taken during the scope of the said procedure.

In another diploma, João Lourenço renews the contract for the restoration and construction of Casa do Artista and Palacio da Música e do Teatro with a total value of 85 million dollars (79 million euros) in connection with the corporate restructuring of the Israeli Mitrelli group. , which has transferred all rights to Mitrelli Group Swiss as of January 1, 2021.

The cable, which Lusa had access to this Wednesday, states that the contract will be signed with Athena Swiss, AG, a subsidiary of the Mitrelli Group, plus 14% VAT (value added tax).

João Lourenço, in the same order, also authorizes the provision of inspection services for the restoration and construction of the Casa da Música and Theatre, totaling $3.3 million (3 million euros), plus 14% VAT with the company. DAR Angola.
