João Paulo Correia, in a statement this Wednesday, explained that the law should be revised to accommodate “the changes that have taken place over the past 16 years that have affected the sport and bring it in line with the ‘sports 2030 strategy'”. “.
The revision of the Basic Law will be carried out until 2024 through a “broad consultation process, listening to the entire physical activity and sport sector, in various forms and across the territory”, seeking to “satisfy the diversity and specificity of the federations”. . . .
The Secretary of State also announced the goal of introducing high-performing units to higher education institutions in the 2023-24 academic year, which involves the implementation of pilot projects in partner higher education institutions.
With over 1,000 athletes from 50 disciplines across 23 schools, this high school program has become “the foundation of success for a new generation of athletes.”
The goal is to promote “continuity in academic careers coupled with high athletic performance”.
The news was shared with 60 federations in five meetings in recent weeks (and ending this Tuesday) where the Secretary of State had the opportunity to present the major measures implemented in his first year of office.
