According to a statement released by the Brazilian body, the judge took into account “indications” that the former footballer was “trying to avoid Italian criminal law” and also “may have left Brazil to avoid serving his sentence.”
According to the decision, the player’s passport must be delivered directly to the STZ.
Last October, Italy requested the extradition of the former Real Madrid and AC Milan striker following his conviction for an infraction, but extradition of nationals is prohibited under the Brazilian constitution.
