Spaniard Paul Espargaro (GasGas) suffered chest and back injuries this Friday after a hard fall in the second free practice session of the Portuguese Grand Prix, the first race of the Speed Motors World Cup.
“MotoGP rider Paul Espargaro has back and chest injuries. The rider is conscious and will be taken to a hospital in Faro for further examination,” MotoGP said in a Twitter post.
Approximately 14 minutes after the end of the second free practice of the Portuguese Grand Prix at the International Circuit in the Algarve, the Spaniard from GasGas was involved in a serious accident due to which the session was stopped.
After being treated on the track, Espargaro was taken by ambulance to the track’s medical center and then taken by helicopter to the Faro hospital.
