Real Madrid see Erling Haaland as a good option to replace Karim Benzema (35) at the Whites, but Manchester City are poised to face an attack from the Spanish club over the Norwegian striker.
According to the English press, the townspeople are ready to offer him a salary of 567,000 euros a week, adding another year to the contract of a player who has already scored 42 goals this season.
Haaland has a contract that runs until 2027 and earns €425,000 a week – the same as Kevin De Bruyne – and sources close to the player say the Norwegian giant is happy in Manchester.
But the citizens don’t want to take the risk because they know that Real Madrid is a desirable club for any footballer, as Rafaela Pimenta, Haaland’s manager, has already acknowledged. “The Premier League is one thing, Real Madrid is another. There’s something unique about Real Madrid, it’s kind of a dreamland for the players.”
