Defenders Gonzalo Inacio and Rafael Guerreiro were not included in the squad for the second meeting of the Portugal national football team in Group J of the Euro 2024 qualifying stage in Luxembourg.
The Sporting CP centre-back and Germany’s Borussia Dortmund left winger were the two athletes removed by coach Roberto Martinez from UEFA’s list of 23 released this Sunday after they were in the starting XI in the first leg against Liechtenstein. (4-0) at the José Alvalade Stadium.
This Sunday’s meeting could include center Diogo Leite, called up to the Kinas first team for the first time, and midfielder Matheus Nunez, both absent from Thursday’s game.
The Luxembourg national team receives the Kinas team at the Stade de Luxembourg at 19:45 (20:45 local time) in a meeting led by Romanian Radu Petrescu.
Portugal must take one of the first two places in order to gain direct access to the final stage of the competition scheduled for Germany (from June 14 to July 14, 2024).
