The court of Vila Nova de Gaia sentenced the man to return to the legal heiress more than 300 thousand euros belonging to the inheritance of a friend who died in 2020.
The accused transferred thousands of euros to his account a few days after the death of a friend. According to the decision in the case cited Newspaper (JN), this person was responsible for solving “life matters, namely, payments due.”
According to JN, the man defended the 242,000 euros that were related to capitalization insurance, of which he was the beneficiary. The defendant argued that this insurance, like other solidarity accounts, was for the deceased because she wanted to guarantee him some savings.
In court, the defendant also stated that he was more connected with the deceased than the daughter, who had not lived with her mother for more than 20 years.
