Porto FC were bolstered on Tuesday by the inclusion of Portuguese international Otavio in the effort to host Portimonense on Sunday in the Portuguese Football League’s matchday 26.
The attacking midfielder was in the service of Portugal, who beat Liechtenstein 4-0 in Lisbon and then thrashed Luxembourg 6-0 in the Euro 2024 qualifying round.
However, coach Sergio Conceição is left without Colombian Matheus Uribe, Serbian Marko Grujic, Canadian Steven Eustaquio, Nigerian Zaidou and Iranian Mehdi Taremi, who are still in the service of their respective national teams.
Also absent from work were goalkeeper Diogo Costa, defenders Joao Mario, Pepe and Joao Marcelo.
The group returns to work on Wednesday at 10:30 am at the PortoGaia Athletic Training and Training Centre.
Porto are second in the league with 58 points, 10 points behind leaders Benfica, while Portimonense are 14th with 26 points.
