The gunman who shot three children and three teachers at an elementary school in Nashville, USA, “carefully planned” the attack and even had a map of the building with entry points, police said yesterday, adding that the woman may have acted out a “grievance” against the school he visited as a child.
The attacker, 28-year-old Audrey Hale, identified herself on social media as transgender and took the male name Aiden, although her friends and authorities describe her as a woman, according to authorities. In addition to the school map, the police found a “manifesto” explaining the reasons for the attack and stating that she chose a different target but withdrew because “there were too many guards”.
The manuscript is being studied by the authorities.
Prior to the attack, Audrey sent a message to a friend saying that she was “going to die” and that “she was going to hear her name on the news” because “something bad was going to happen”.
