Sotiris remains at Sporting without convincing decisions

The Greek Sotiris arrived at Sporting in the last days of the transfer market in August to make up for the departure of Matheus Nunez and become an alternative to Ugarta and Morita. But none of the goals are far from being achieved.

The 20-year-old midfielder has been losing positions in the team in recent games and is already being considered as a fourth option behind Essugo. The peak of inefficiency was the game with Varzim (Portuguese Cup), in which the Lions flew out (1: 0), and Ruben Amorim knocked out Sotiris at half-time. Since then, five games have passed, and only in the last meeting with V. Guimarães did he come off the bench to give Ugarta a break when it was already 3-0 in favor of Sporting.

However, Amorim believes he can highlight the qualities of the Greek player (ex-Panathinaikos) who cost Sporting €4.5m.

At Wednesday’s training session at Alcochet, the coach again did not count on Daniel Braganza, Luis Neto and Nuno Santos, players who remain under the supervision of the medical department. Midfielder Renato Veiga and right-back Diogo Travassos were training.
