Spanish coach José Rojo Pacheta has been sacked from Valladolid after a 6-0 thrashing suffered on Sunday against Real Madrid, the 16th-place club in the Spanish Football League, announced on Monday.
“This is a difficult decision for everything that symbolizes Pacheta, the leader of the team who managed to return to La Liga thanks to the promotion of the division,” Valladolid said in a note published on his official page.
Pacheta, 55, has been at the helm of Valladolid since last season, managing to climb to second place behind Almería in the latest wave of direct access to Spanish football’s top flight.
In La Liga, the 16th-place team is coming from a draw and two defeats in a row, with 28 points, just one point above the relegation zone occupied by Espanyol (27), Valencia (26) and Elche (13). .
