Player Daniel Podens was accused of spitting at rival Brennan Johnson during the Nottingham Forest-Wolverhampton match. According to sky sportsthe incident occurred in the 90th minute and was recorded by VAR, but no action was taken.
“I’m not going to blame him for anything, but I felt some saliva hit my face. The judges saw it, ”said Brennan Johnson about what happened.
“At the end of the day, the Var team is looking at this, not me. I saw it up close and they see it differently. Maybe they didn’t see what I saw, so at the end of the day they didn’t get a red card and I just had to keep playing,” he added.
Nottingham Forest were also accused of not controlling the players after they surrounded the referee for 40 minutes.
Both teams’ assistants Alan Tate (Nottingham Forest) and Pablo Sanz (Wolves) were also charged with “inappropriate and/or violent” behavior in the 52nd minute.
Player Daniel Podens, assistants and Nottingham Forest have until April 12 to respond to the relevant charges.
