Alison Jackson (EF Education) gave the surprise with victory in a reduced sprint in the 3rd edition of the women’s Paris-Roubaix disputed between Denain and Roubaix, with a route of 145.4 kilometers.
In a finish starring six of the runners who led the breakaway in the “Hell of the North”, Alison Jackson could hardly believe her victory, unexpected, surprising, but deserved, since at the Roubaix velodrome she was the fastest and he was able to celebrate his success in style.
Jackson (Vermilion, 34 years old), raised his arms with a goal time of 3 hours 42 minutes and 56 seconds, ahead of the Italian Katia Ragusa (Liv Racing) who was second and the Belgian Martha Truyen (Fenix Deceuninck) who crossed the finish line in third position.
The favorites, like Lotte Kopecky, Chiara Consonni or Marianne Vos reached the finish line 12 seconds behindpowerless when it comes to neutralizing a break that they allowed and that they could not cancel in time.
