Four stranded youths were rescued this Sunday afternoon from the sea at Carcavelos Beach, one of them requiring hospital care, the National Maritime Authority (AMN) said.
The AMN statement explains that the four young people were rescued by members of the SeaWatch project and lifeguards on duty at this beach in the municipality of Cascais, in the Lisbon area.
According to the same source, the incident took place at 16:05, when members of the local command of the Maritime Police of Cascais and the fire brigades of Carcavelos and São Domingos de Rana were dispatched to the scene.
“One of the young people received help on the beach from the SeaWatch project, in cooperation with the rescuers, and was then taken to the hospital by the volunteer firefighters of Carcavelos and San Domingos de Rana. Physically healthy, not being necessary for medical care, left the beach on their own, ”the note says.
