Colombian international Luis Diaz is at 100% and is returning to Liverpool’s squad for Monday’s game against Leeds after being sidelined since October, the Reds manager revealed this Friday.
“He trained 100% like he does now. He is training normally and now we are going to restore him. He will be in the lineup and if nothing happens, Luis will be in the group and we will continue.” from there,” Jurgen Klopp said at a press conference.
The former Porto player has not played since October 9, when he injured his knee in a home game against Arsenal in the English league, which the Reds lost 3-2.
“Louis has grown a lot. His English has improved and he is really ready. He was here every day – that’s what happens with all injuries, especially long-term ones,” Klopp explained, adding that it’s like new reinforcements.
The German coach justified that the Colombian winger now feels much more adapted, comfortable, compared to his start at the club he came to in the 2022 winter market from Porto.
“It’s like a breath of fresh air, every day he trains. He loves it and I said at the beginning when he arrived that he can’t train without a smile on his face, that it’s special and that’s exactly what he’s doing now,” said the coach.
Liverpool will visit Leeds on Monday in the Premier League matchday 31, a competition in which the Reds are eighth, 12 points behind Manchester United and fourth in the latest Champions League affiliation next season.
