Dani Alves returned to court on Monday to testify about what happened on the night of December 31, 2022 at the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona. The Brazilian footballer has been in custody since mid-January on charges of raping a 23-year-old girl. In front of the judge, the Brazilian player stated that the sexual relationship was consensual and that in the first version, he lied to hide that he was unfaithful.
According to the Spanish press, Dani Alves claimed this Monday that there was a game of seduction between the two that ended in a consensual sexual encounter. The player also said that he did not hear words of rejection or regret. The Brazilian also admitted, according to TVE, that despite being respectful, he could have been more careful and kind.
Initially saying that he did not know the victim, Dani Alves later stated that he met the young woman in the disco bathroom, but nothing happened. According to another version, it was admitted that there was oral sex. This Monday, he claimed that he lied to protect the young woman and in an attempt to cover up the infidelity (the woman had already advanced in her divorce proceedings).
The defense of the Brazilian asked to recognize his innocence.
