Frenchman François Letexier officiates Sporting’s welcome to Juventus in the second leg of the Europa League quarter-final on Thursday, UEFA announced on Tuesday.

Letexier officiates Sporting’s match for the second time this season after being in a 1-1 draw between the Lions and the Danes from Midtjylland, the play-off game for reaching the round of 16 of the Europa League.

The referee, who is 33 years old and has been an international player since 2017, will be assisted by assistants Cyril Mounier and Mehdi Rahmouni, while the video referee (VAR) will be Dutchman Paul van Buekel.

In the game scheduled for 20:00 at the José Alvalade Stadium, Sporting are trying to recover from a 1-0 deficit that occurred in the first leg.

UEFA also appointed Portuguese referee Artur Soares Dias today for the Europa League match between Sevilla and Manchester United, which will also take place on Thursday at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium.

Artur Soares Dias will have Paulo Soares and Pedro Ribeiro as assistants, VAR’s Thiago Martins assisted by Luis Godinho and António Nobre as fourth referee in a game that will see Sevilla and United arrive after a 2-2 draw in the first leg .
