Spanish football has been shocked in the past few hours by the latest accusations against Randri Garcia, coach of the Alama women’s team. According to Mundo Deportivo, the club’s players are constantly suffering from “male chauvinistic insults, disrespect and discriminatory treatment” from the coach, who has been in charge of the team since 2018.
According to the same source, the situation has become “unacceptable”: in addition to insulting the physique of some players, Randri Garcia even criticized the sexual orientation of others.
The final straw was that the coach allegedly sent a photo of a sexual nature to a group where all the players were present. One of them, writes Mundo Deportivo, is a minor.
Faced with these allegations, Alhama issued an official statement denying “the existence of any major incidents involving players”. “Due to what was published about the alleged sending of the photo, Alhama launched an internal investigation a few days ago,” the club said in a statement.
Randri Garcia has a contract with Alhama until June 2023.
