Colombian singer Shakira refused to perform at the opening ceremony of the World Cup in Qatar. The artist refused a million dollars to attend the event.
The confirmation was made by the Spanish journalist Adriana Dorronsoro in the program “Ana Rosa Program“, who contacted the representatives of the artist.
The reason for the refusal may be related to the lack of guarantees for human rights in the country, since the singer Dua Lipa and Rod Stewart also refused to operate in the Arab country under the aforementioned pretext.
The opening ceremony of the World Cup will take place this Sunday, ahead of the match between Qatar and Ecuador. So far, BTS’s Jungkook, Robbie Williams, Lil Baby, and the Black Eyed Peas are the only artists who have confirmed their presence at the ceremony.
