Benfica fans threw torches at Inter supporters during Wednesday’s Champions League game, a situation that led to the Eagles’ apology to the Italians, according to a statement released this Thursday.
“Sport Lisboa e Benfica announces that it has sent a letter to Inter Milan expressing regret and apology for the incidents that occurred in the Champions League game. They are in line with the values and principles of Sport Lisboa e Benfica”, you can read on the official website.
An eight-year-old child was among the victims. Before the match, there were clashes involving Eagles fans, leading to arrests by the Milanese police.
