Portuguese center forward Pepe has been extended at Porto for another year, until 2024. The 40-year-old player has already played 248 matches for the White-and-Blues.
The defender arrived at Porto in the 2004/2005 season from Maritimo. In his first time with the Dragons, he won two championships, the Portuguese Cup, the Supercopa Candido de Oliveira and the Intercontinental Cup. In 2007/2008 he was transferred to Real Madrid.
Over the meringue, he confirmed his presence among the best central defenders in the world. In Spain, he has won three Champions Leagues, two Club World Cups, a European Super Cup, and seven national titles (in the Spanish Championship, Copa del Rey and Supercopa de España).
In 2016, he was part of the Portuguese team that won the European Championship in France and was selected in the top eleven in the tournament.
He returned to Porto in 2019 after a brief stint with Turkish side Besiktas. Since he started his second spell for the Dragons, he has already added two Portuguese leagues, two Super Cups, two Cups and a League Cup to his history.
