The historical socialist Manuel Alegre said this Sunday that without or against the Socialist Party (PS) there are no solutions for political stability in Portugal and that no one in the country can teach his party lessons in democracy.

“Without the PS and against the PS there are no leftist solutions in Portugal”, and furthermore “in the current circumstances without the PS and against the PS there are also no solutions for political stability in Portugal”, said Manuel Alegre. during his speech at the party dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the party, which takes place in the Rosa Mota pavilion in Porto.

Manuel Alegre repeated this thought several times in his speech, repeating what he had already said upon arrival, when, when asked about the criticism of the government by the President of the Republic, he stated that “criticism is part of democracy” and expressed the conviction that “he does not dissolve [o parlamento]because PS is the guarantor of political stability in Portugal.”
