18 people were detained during the GNR crime prevention operation in the municipality of Albufeira.

According to a GNR statement, 18 people aged between 16 and 54 were arrested as a result of a crime prevention operation carried out by the Faro Territorial Command GNR through the Albufeira Territorial Detachment this weekend in the municipality of Albufeira.

Among the suspects, nine were arrested for drug trafficking, four for drunk driving, two for illegal videotaping and one for driving without a license.

Also seized were 353 doses of cocaine, 106 doses of hashish, 21 grams of ecstasy, 18 doses of marijuana, €1,545 in cash, £60, seven mobile phones, a knife, three identity documents and a large car.

Of the 18 arrested, five were present at the Albufeira judicial court. One of the suspects was taken into custody for drug trafficking in Silves prison.
