PSD Demands Urgent Parliamentary Hearings of Administration of Metropolitano de Lisbon

The PSD demands an urgent hearing from the administration of the Metropolitano de Lisboa at the seat of the Parliamentary Committee on the Economy and Public Works in view of the ongoing riots that have harmed thousands of users.

This statement, dated Friday, was first signed by deputy Paulo Rios de Oliveira, as well as the leader of the Social Democrats, Joaquim Miranda Sarmento.

The PSD Parliamentary Group’s statement of reasons for this political initiative notes that the metro operation “causes interference with the services provided in the northern part of the Lisbon metropolitan area”.

The SDP believes that the suspension of traffic on some sections of the network is detrimental to “thousands of users, leaving several areas without access to the metro, a circumstance that will continue for at least two months.”

“Work is always inconvenient. However, it is important that they be minimized by creating adequate alternatives and sufficiently informing users, ”the statement says.

However, according to the SDP bench, “problems with access to the metro as a result of work in progress have been reported to have caused serious inconvenience, either due to the lack and inadequacy of alternatives, or due to a lack of information to users.”

“Given the damage done to thousands of citizens, it is important to ensure that the responses are adequate to minimize these inconveniences, which apparently has not happened so far,” the statement reads.

The request was also signed by PSD MPs António Proa, Marcia Passos, Jorge Salgueiro Mendez, Afonso Oliveira (President of the Commission for the Economy and Public Works), Alexandre Posu (JSD leader), António Topa Gómez, Carlos Eduardo Reis, Hugo Carneiro. Hugo Martins Carvalho and Jorge Paulo Oliveira.

This document was also signed by Social Democratic deputies Luis Gomes, Nuno Carvalho, Patricia Dantas, Paulo Moniz, Rui Cristina, Alexander Simões, Pedro Roque, Duarte Pacheco, Isabel Meireles, Joana Barata Lopez, José Silvano, Lina Lopez, Maria Emilia Apolinario. , Ricardo Batista Leite and Thiago Moreira de Sa.
