Portugal’s Artur Soares Dias has been named as the referee for Real Madrid vs Manchester City in the first leg of Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final, UEFA announced this Sunday.
At the Santiago Bernabeu, 43-year-old Soares Dias will be assisted by Paulo Soares and Pedro Ribeiro, with Italy’s Daniele Orsato as fourth referee.
Also Italian Massimiliano Irrati will act as a video referee (VAR).
Soares Dias will take charge of a Champions League match for the fourth time this season after having been in Liverpool-Ajax (2-1), Copenhagen-Manchester City (0-0), both in the group stage and in Eintracht. Frankfurt-Naples (0-2), the first leg of the 1/8 finals.
Real Madrid and Manchester City will play on Tuesday starting at 20:00 (Lisbon time) at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid.
