Several residents of the Casal do Gil area in Ajuda, Lisbon, are desperate because of the lack of alternatives in the face of the eviction order they received to leave the homes in which they have lived all their lives. The owner wants to sell the property and the families only have one month to find a solution.
Louise has lived in the area for 26 years and is anxious about the future. “I still don’t know where I’m going,” he laments. According to the account cm“for five years” there has been a struggle, but the answer has not come.
“We are bad, we don’t know where to go,” he says. According to the resident, she spends her last days “without sleep and with a heavy heart.”
Asked about the decisions in the case, Louise adds that the Lisbon city council “says there is light at the end of the tunnel,” but nothing has been done so far.
