The head of Waldene Mendez, a man found dismembered in Cadaval, was found in an abandoned house 100 meters from the house shared by the victim and the alleged perpetrator. The former gravedigger, who is in custody, has already confessed to the authorities that he defiled and hid the corpse, but denies any involvement in the murder.
The victim and the suspect had lived in the same house since April 10, and about 15 days later, Waldene Mendez was killed. Luis Lopez allegedly strangled the victim after she refused to have sex with him.
The first bag of remains was found on Tuesday, May 2. The next day, another bag containing the victim’s legs and arms was found. The head will be found only on Saturday, May 6.
