The President of the Assembly of the Republic said this Wednesday that until mid-morning he had not received any resignation requests from Jorge Seguro Sánchez, who heads the TAP commission of inquiry.
At the end of the leadership conference in Parliament, Augusto Santos Silva was questioned by journalists about the news, which reported that the Socialist MP had already decided to leave and, according to the SIC, it would only be necessary to settle the matter with the President of the Assembly of the Republic, with whom he had already met.
“I have not yet received any resignation letter that is due to be submitted to me. If and when I come and get it, I will ask the party that has the right, which, in turn, will appoint the chairman of the commission to make this proposal,” he said, referring to joining the Socialist Party.
When asked if he had already met or been informally informed about this resignation, Santos Silva replied that he does not work “unofficially” and also does not disclose meetings with deputies.
“I have not been in the office since 10:30, at 10:29 there was no correspondence about this,” he said.
