The Union of All Educational Professionals (Stop) sent out new strike notices for comparative tests between May 16-26, and new forms of struggle are also being considered.
Speaking to Lusa, union coordinator André Pestana said the measurement test strike that ended on Thursday had a high level of commitment, and new strike notices were issued between May 16 and May 26, for which no minimum services were introduced.
“We felt that the commitment to the strike was growing so much that we got [informações] – and we’re going to prosecute – that senior officials linked to the Ministry of Education testify about the replacement of striking teachers, which is a clear violation of the law. Any striking worker cannot be replaced, and this is serious,” he said.
