The Spanish Civil Guard launched this Friday morning a search operation in connection with the disappearance of David Mitogo, 32-year-old Atlético Arnoia player from Spain.
According to the newspaper La Voz de Galicia, on Friday morning the Civil Guard received an alarm from a relative of Mitogo, who said that he could be in danger. The player, according to the same source, left the door open as he left and sent a message to his teammates thanking them for the past season.
Although the search is intense – as it involves both the player’s comrades and locals, as well as the Civil Protection and Civil Guard – early signs are discouraging, as Mitogo’s mobile phone was found near the bridge where he lived. Searches are currently taking place on the Minho River.
La Voz de Galicia also adds that a neighbor saw Mitogo walking around around 6:30 am, around the time he disappeared.
