RTP employees will be increased from 30 to 80 euros, depending on the level of each specialist. It was an agreement reached on Thursday by the RTP with the unions after five months of negotiations. It was a “possible agreement,” according to the Union of Journalists (UJ) in a note published on its official website.
The agreement provides for a cash bonus of 80 euros for employees up to level 14; €70 for employees between levels 15 and 47 and €30 for employees between levels 47A and 54. Increase in the number of days of leave to 24 working days and a second food allowance after 11 hours of work.
As a reminder, together with other RTP unions, on December 30, 2022, SJ submitted a list of claims to the management of the company, in which it made a proposal to update wages in the amount of 8.5% with a minimum value of 100 euros. However, against this proposal, the RTP opposed a uniform wage increase for all by 35 euros in each of the wage levels, which in turn would be rejected by the unions.
Now that an agreement has been reached, SJ believes that “most of its partners are protected by this increase, which is remarkable and makes a huge difference in increasing the monthly liquidity of civil servants.” The salary increase is retroactive from January and will already be made at the time of salary processing at the end of May of this month.”
At the beginning of the agreement, a negotiating commitment was also set for early calendar year 2024 to “increase the food subsidy”; “fairness on the travel map” (revisiting travel subsidies and per diems), “an increase in allowances on Saturdays and Sundays, and an increase by one more day to support ascending family members.”
