The government will extend for another two months the monthly support of 30 euros for those who benefit from the Rapid Assistance Program for the Most Needy (POAPMC), taking into account the market context and the international socio-economic situation.
The ruling was published today in Diário da República and extends for another two months the allocation of financial support created in February, “of an additional, exceptional and temporary nature”, to “compensate for families who benefit from the program”, to increase the cost of living.
The need for an extension is due to the fact that it has been confirmed that “as a result of the market context and the international socio-economic situation, exacerbated by the consequences caused by the military situation in Europe, tenders are sometimes terminated. “under POAPMC.
The situation is “giving rise to restrictions and delays in the delivery of products that make up the food basket”, and the government acknowledges that these restrictions persist despite “efforts being made to eliminate them.”
“It is important that measures be immediately strengthened so that all families have the conditions to provide them with food,” the decree says.
This subsidy has a value of 30 euros and is paid monthly to each of the items that are part of a POAPMC supported household, depending on the diagnosis and informal assessment, which are performed automatically.
Payment is the responsibility of the Social Security Institute and is made by deposit to a bank account or by postal order directly to the recipient or his representative.
