For the second day in a row that members of the Brazilian security forces have killed corporate colleagues, on Monday morning a military police sergeant killed another sergeant and their commander at a corporate barracks in the city of Salto, 102 kilometers from Sao Paulo. At dawn on Sunday, a civil police (judicial) inspector broke into the unit where he worked in the city of Kamoshim, state of Ceara, and killed four colleagues.
This Monday’s attack took place on the 3rd company of Salto’s military police chief, where a shooter identified only as Sergeant Gouveia worked. Arriving at the headquarters at dawn already with a combat rifle in his hands, the sergeant said that he was going to participate in the exercises and went straight to the command post. Upon entering, he quickly locked the door and began shooting at the two men inside, Captain Josias Justi, the company commander, and Sergeant Roberto da Silva, who died. The shooter then opened the door and let other servicemen in, who arrested him red-handed for a double murder, the motive for which they refused to explain.
The previous day, at dawn on Sunday, another officer of the law, inspector Antonio Alves Dourado, who was off duty, broke into the police station where he worked, in the city of Camosim, and killed four colleagues from the Antonio Claudio dos corporation. Santos, António José Rodriguez Miranda, Francisco dos Santos Pereira and Gabriel de Sousa Pereira. Then the inspector who arrived at the scene got into one of the corporation’s cars and disappeared, surrendering to the city’s military police barracks, where he confessed to the crimes committed.
Both in this Monday’s jump attack and in Kamoshima on Sunday, the militants initially did not want to find out their motives. However, in the case of Kamosim, DI António Alves Dourado’s colleagues claimed that he was extremely violent and that it seemed even more sublime and out of control in recent times, to the point where colleagues started using ballistic vests when they were like him at the same time.
