Brussels accuses Google of favoring its own ad-tech services

This is the fourth case of Brussels against Google. The Commission accuses the multinational of “favoring the online display of its own advertising technology services to the detriment of rival providers.”

The European Comission has formally accused this Wednesday the technological multinational Google of abusing its dominant position by favoring its advertising technology services or ‘ad tech‘, which are tools and programs used by advertisers to reach broader audiences and measure the impact of their campaigns.

The Community Executive announced an investigation in this regard in June 2021, and today it has sent a statement of charges to the American company in which it accuses it of “encourage online viewing of their own services of ad technology to the detriment of rival providers.

Its about fourth case of Brussels against Google after accusations of a dominant position through the Android system, its Google Shopping price comparison service and its Adsense for Search platform, which resulted in fines that together amount to some 8,000 million euros.
