The instant messaging service Slack, which many companies use as their primary means of communication, is down, leaving people unable to connect to their workplace.
The problem appears to have started around 9.30am and more than 3,500 people have logged the problem on online tracker Down Detector.
Slack users are also complaining on social media. “When your entire company is on Slack, it’s a concern,” said Joe Tannorella at X, formerly known as Twitter.
Jade King added: “Slack is down. I can’t live, laugh, love and create content under these conditions.”
When people try to load Slack, they see a “server error” message or a message that says “An error has occurred and we’re having trouble loading your workspace.”
The issue does not appear to be affecting all workspaces, and it is currently unconfirmed how widespread the outage is.
Slack updated its status page at 10:11 a.m. BST, acknowledging the issue.
The incident report states: “Some customers are experiencing various errors in Slack. We are actively investigating this and will update as soon as more information becomes available.”
