Google officially unveiled its newest phones, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, at a launch event in New York on Wednesday.
The Pixel 8 Pro’s 6.7-inch screen is the same size as the Pixel 7 Pro, while the regular model is slightly smaller.
Improvements have been made to the screens and cameras of the phones and they come pre-installed with the latest Android 14 operating system.

When will Google Pixel 8 be released?
Both the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are available for pre-order now. Google Store.
They will go on sale from now on. Thursday, October 12and then pre-orders will also be sent out.
How much will Pixel 8 cost?
Pixel 8 starts with £699and Pixel 8 Pro costs at least € £999.
The standard version has 128 GB of internal memory, which can be doubled up to 256 GB if necessary. £759 Choice.
Pixel 8 Pro will cost you £1059 for 256 GB of memory and £1179 for 512 GB.
Google is currently offering a free Pixel Buds Pro bundle or £199 off the Pixel Watch 2 when you pre-order one of the new phones.
What are the new features?
Both phones have improved displays that users can still see clearly even in direct sunlight. They also moved from a curved display to a flat one.
The Pixel 8 Pro features a 50MP wide-angle lens, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens with macro focus, and a 48MP camera with a 5x telephoto lens.
The standard version now has a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera on the back and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle macro lens.
Both models are powered by Google’s new Tensor G3 chip, with 8GB of RAM on the Pixel 8 and 12GB on the Pro model. Both also increased the refresh rate from 90Hz to 120Hz.
Pixel 8 is available in three colors: pink, walnut and obsidian. The Pro is also available in three colors: porcelain, obsidian and laurel, similar to sky blue.
The Pro has a temperature sensor that Google says can be used to, for example, test a cup of coffee before drinking it or a wall before starting construction.
