A major outage has affected several Microsoft services.
Web users have complained about being unable to access Microsoft 365 platforms, including Teams and Outlook.
The tech giant confirmed it is aware of the issue and has launched an investigation into the “root cause.”
Microsoft Teams disabled
Microsoft Teams is an online collaboration platform that allows users to chat, hold meetings, and share notes and attachments.
Downdetector, a website that tracks internet outages, said it had received more than 1,500 reports of problems with Teams as of 10 a.m. Friday.
The most common errors were problems connecting to the server (61 percent), followed by problems with applications (27 percent) and problems logging in (13 percent).
The issue appears to be affecting Microsoft 365 on a larger scale.
Microsoft 365 includes a range of online services, including Microsoft Teams, Outlook.com, OneDrive, as well as programs formerly sold as Microsoft Office, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
According to Downdetector, more than 900 users reported problems between 365 and 10 a.m.
Outlook, which is used by 400 million people for email, was experiencing login issues, according to social media posts.
The Microsoft 365 Service Incidents X (formerly Twitter) account said users in the UK and Germany were affected.
It said: “We’re investigating an issue where some users in the UK and Germany may not be able to access Microsoft 365 services.” For more information, search for MO688737 in the Administration Center.”
According to Downdetector, more than 1,000 Xbox users also reported problems accessing services before 10 a.m., especially logging in.
