TikTok is down and users around the world are reporting that they are unable to download and watch videos.
According to Down Detector, an online troubleshooting tool, the problems seem to have started around 1:30 pm and hundreds of people have reported problems.
People are complaining that the app is not available on Twitter. One TikTok user, Kate Bishop, tweeted: “Sorry TikTok please can’t go out during business hours. I need to unwind.
Another user commented: “Why is my TikTok not working? Maybe I should go for a walk.”
Some users have reported that the app turns on and off, works for a while, and then crashes again.
TikTok has yet to publicly acknowledge the issues. I asked for a comment on TikTok.
The crash comes after Twitter exploded earlier this week, blocking users from posting tweets while YouTube’s homepage also struggled.
