Three elderly women killed in US shooting

Three elderly women died on Monday after being shot in the city of Farmington in the US state of New Mexico. The dead were driving in a car when they were taken by surprise by gunshots, CNN International.

Gwendolyn Schofield, 98, and Melody Evie, 73, died inside the car. Shirley Volta was taken to the hospital but ended up dying from her injuries.

The perpetrator was identified as 18-year-old Bo Wilson. The student began randomly shooting at people, houses and cars. In addition to the three dead, nine were injured.

The assailant was eventually shot dead by the authorities.

The motive for the crime has not yet been established. According to the agency ReutersBo Wilson bought a shotgun when he was 18 years old.

Relatives of the young man say that the boy will have a difficult phase, and this will affect his mental health.
