Jerónimo Martins Group, owner of Pingo Doce, was the largest donor to World Youth Day (WYD), donating €2.5 million in 2022.
According to the report and accounts of the WYD Foundation published this Thursday, the organization ended 2022 with operating results of 4.79 million euros, with total income coming from donations.
The group led by Pedro Soares dos Santos, which recorded a profit of 140 million euros in the first quarter of the year (59.1% more than in the same period in 2022), is responsible for more than half of all donations received so far VDM Foundation.
The report and reporting show that the total cost of running the JMJ Lisboa 2023 Foundation for the fiscal year was €1.083 million, equivalent to 23% of global revenue. The document mentions that “in order to ensure transparency and verification of the accounts of the JMJ Lisboa 2023 Fund”, the report was reviewed and approved by an external consultant.
